The Board of Governors anticipates 23 openings for membership in the 2025 fiscal year. As announced at the regular Membership Meeting held Thursday, May 9, 2024 the following process for sponsoring new members to the Sycamore Club will be as follows:
- To sponsor a qualified individual to apply for membership in the Club, you must comply with the following:
- Beginning Friday, May 10, 2024, at Noon (ET), you must sign the sponsor sheet kept at the bar. You will need to legibly print your name and the name of the individual you wish to sponsor. The deadline for signing the sponsor sheet is close of business on Friday, May 24, 2024.
- You must sign up in person – requests sent to this email will not be accepted or acknowledged.
- On Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. (ET), the Board will conduct a lottery at the Club to determine the order in which applications will be extended to individuals listed on the sponsor sheet. You do not need to be present at the lottery.
- The above lottery will determine the order in which applications will be extended. If there are more individuals sponsored then there are membership spaces available, the results will serve as a waiting list with priority for the next membership cycle.
- An email will be sent out listing the members who are entitled to extend an application to the individual they are sponsoring (including instructions for returning it).
- If you sponsored an applicant last year you cannot sponsor a new applicant this year.
- If more than one member signs up to sponsor the same individual, only the first member’s sign up shall be counted. Stated another way, an individual may only be sponsored by one more member for purposes of the lottery.
- Finally, if a sponsor was eligible to extend an application to an individual sponsored by them, and they declined to extend such application, such individual will not be considered eligible to be sponsored as a candidate for membership.
